Meet Peter Nicol
STN is happy to introduce Peter who is now taking Fall Protection course bookings in the Lower Mainland, BC area.

Safety training is most effective when it reflects the situations people may face at work. Peter Nicol brings experience from both industrial emergency response and career firefighting to the courses he delivers.
Peter has instructed safety courses since 2006, with a focus on fall protection since 2013 and confined space entry and rescue since 2012. Since 2024, he has also instructed in the Technical High Angle Rope Rescue Program (THARRP).
From 2005 to 2010, Peter worked as a Protection Officer at Catalyst Paper’s Crofton mill. His responsibilities included firefighting, first aid, confined space rescue, rope rescue and hazardous materials response. In 2010, he joined the Township of Langley Fire Department as a career firefighter and was recently promoted to Acting Captain.
Peter has also competed in the 2019 and 2022 Grimp North America Technical Rope Rescue Competitions, leading a seven-member team through confined space and high-angle rescue scenarios aboard the USS Iowa.
Across industry, emergency response and competition, Peter has gathered practical lessons that he brings into the training room. His goal is to give students realistic examples and useful skills they can carry into their work.
